From the very beginning in 2005 this ministry was specifically targeted to what you might call the "at-risk" or "troubled" youth wandering around the downtown area. We specifically target them because we believe that no one else is and that they will never hear about Christ's love and sacrifice for them unless we bring that news to them. To do that, we use the model that Christ used when ministering to people: accepting them exactly where they were (bad habits and all), and offering them redeption through a relationship with Himself. Jesus does not clean people up before He loves them. Their relationship with Him changes their hearts. Our mission is to introduce these teens to Christ and then let Him change them from the inside out. It is a slow and often a rocky road but is ultimately the change is authentic. "The Garage" is not a traditional church youth group. While the message is the same the kids are not. See the video
Youth For Christ is our "parent" organization. We are honored to belong to an organization that has such a long history of reaching teens with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in creative and effective ways.

Volunteer Training:
Each spring training is offered for people interested in learning more about serving at the Garage. No commitment is required to participate in training. We would love to have you. Our next volunteer training class will be March 5th through June 25th, 2012. Class meets on Monday nights at 7 pm in our office in Wadsworth.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn "The Garage DNA" and how God has wired you to serve. You will get to visit each ministry site and work through a variety of topics.
