From the very beginning in 2005 this ministry was specifically targeted to what you might call the "at-risk" or "troubled" youth wandering around the downtown area. We specifically target them because we believe that no one else is and that they will never hear about Christ's love and sacrifice for them unless we bring that news to them. To do that, we use the model that Christ used when ministering to people: accepting them exactly where they were (bad habits and all), and offering them redeption through a relationship with Himself. Jesus does not clean people up before He loves them. Their relationship with Him changes their hearts. Our mission is to introduce these teens to Christ and then let Him change them from the inside out. It is a slow and often a rocky road but is ultimately the change is authentic. "The Garage" is not a traditional church youth group. While the message is the same the kids are not.
